Piezoresistive Pressure Transducers
Piezoresistive pressure transducers are fundamentally a device that converts an applied pressure into an electrical signal. It also can be called: piezoresistive OEM capsules or piezoresistive pressure sensor elements. A high-sensitivity piezoresistive silicon chip is used for pressure sensing. The chip is protected against ambient influences by a stainless steel housing sealed with a concentrically corrugated diaphragm. The housing is filled with silicone oil so as to ensure the transfer of the pressure from the diaphragm to the sensing component. Several millions of these pressure transducers are in use world-wide in a variety of different applications. Main fields of application are: Level technology, pneumatics, hydraulics, avionics.
SS111 series pcb mount pressure sensors have the diameter 19mm and height 4mm only, is a kind of low cost type piezo-resistive sensor. The most important sensing part is a high stable piezoresistive silicon die, which is protect by a transparent silicon gel to against the effects of the external environment.
