How to choose a piezoresistive pressure sensor(output signal and Excitation voltage)

Time:2019-02-17

5, The output signal of the sensor. Almost all of the sensors have MV output(piezoresistive pressure transducer with mV output signal, see picture 1 and 2),or Voltage (low cost pressure sensor 0-10V, see picture 3 ) and mA current output(industrial pressure sensor 4-20mA output, see picture 4). The output signal you choose depend on the distance between sensor and system controls or displays, noise, and other electrical interference, as well as the need for amplification. For many of the original equipment manufacturers and their control elements and sensors distance is very short, so millivolt output is usually sufficient and low cost. In the long cable, or have a large area of electrical noise, you need mA output or a frequency output. In a strong electromagnetic interference environment, you need to add some additional external shielding or filtering equipment of this.

6. Excitation voltage of the sensor. Type of output may decide the excitation voltage that you need. Many sensors have built-in amplification voltage regulator can operate over a wide voltage regulation.
